GEFFIKIMASK

GEFFIKA/SKIMASK SPLIT 12” reviewed favorably by the rad but rarely pleasable Still Single…
RECOMMENDED
Geffika side is the tits. Doom-noise via bass and drums and maybe a guitar that isn’t played like a guitar likes to be played. Heavy as hell and reminiscent of why noise-rock went from being a punch-line in my Y2K world to a savior in my current environment. Skimask is a little more challenging in the structural department but no less noisy and probably capable of future brilliance, just like I was going to state about Geffika before I felt Skimask needed their obligatory shout-out … because sometimes I like to play by writerly rules and all. Worth a listen and if either of these bands come to town, do like I would do and go check this shit out. Warning: There might not be a big social scene in attendance, which signals quality more often than not these days.
